Exhibit: Autumn Fair Stand & Cauldron Kitchen

Marie Gattis, San Jose, CA exhibited the "Autumn Fair Stand" at last year's Good Sam Show. "This was a Mini-Cals Club project. Since the Fair was to be held in autumn, I decided to put a roof over mine, in case of rain."

In 1:12 scale, the exhibit is 8" wide, 9" deep and 7" tall.

Marie Gattis also exhibited the "Cauldron Kitchen." She tells us, "This exhibit was made from a JoAnn Swanson project as show in Dollhouse Miniatures magazine (October 2002)."

In 1:12 scale, the exhibit is 16" wide, 16" deep and 13" tall. Photos by Connie Sauve, Exhibit Chairman.

Exhibit: Dress Shop Take Over

"Dress Shop Take Over" in 1:12 scale was created by Anna McCuistion from Ceres, California (located in Stanislaus County).  It is filled with one-of-a-kind items made by Anna. This includes the "dresses, woven and filled baskets, filled bottles, hats, hat stands, jewelry and displays, dressed tables, etc." She adds, "I handmade the clothing and dressed the skeletons."

The exhibit is 16-1/2" wide, 9" deep, 10-3/8" tall. Photos by Connie Sauve, Exhibit Chairman.

Exhibit: Beginning Spirits

Karen Norman, Gilroy, California exhibited "Beginning Spirits" at last year's show. She cleverly created a delightful fall kitchen scene inside a lightweight and easy-to-carve craft pumpkin. Karen then decorated the exterior in autumn foliage, flowers and berries. She tells us, "This was my first mini adventure...I'm hooked! The mini-spirits have invaded my mini-brain."

In 1:12 scale, the exhibit is 12" wide, 12" deep and 12" high. Photos by Connie Sauve, Exhibit Chairman.

Annnouncement

We are in the process of preparing the 2014 Good Sam Show coverage to be published in the U.S. and abroad. The next few weeks of the Blog will be devoted to some of the Exhibits photographed at the 2013 Show. Interesting ideas abound! We will resume our regular Blog posts on Saturday, November 15.

Exhibit: The Chocolate Mill

Ken Byers of Shaker Works West, San Francisco, CA exhibited "The Chocolate Mill" at the 2013 Good Sam Show. "This beat up old corn will was restored in 1906," Ken tells us. "It was converted to the first chocolate mill opened in San Francisco after the earthquake. This is an accurate reproduction of the mill as it stood when built."

"The machinery represents actual chocolate processing equipment, which really hasn't changed much in the past 100 years. The water wheel is driven by real water, which drives the belt driven mixers inside."

In 1:12 scale, it is 22" wide, 29" deep, and 20" tall. Photos by Connie Sauve, Exhibit Chairman.

Exhibit: Hittin' the Dusty Road

Connie Sauve, Stockton, CA exhibited "Hittin the Dusty Road" at the 2013 Good Sam Show. "The scene is set in the 1930's with a family escaping the dust bowl during the Great Depression. The metal truck was purchased at Home Goods. I aged the truck and used miniatures I had in my mini stash to fill it. I made a base for the truck with a dirt road and a barbed wire fence, which I made from scratch. I made all three of the figures."

In 1:12 scale, the exhibit is 16" wide, 10" deep, and 11" high.
